Howard St. Willow 10/30

I snapped a good shot at this angle today. It is better because there are no wires in the shot, but you see a few gaps that don't show in other pictures. Almost every time I walk by this tree on the bike path behind Davis Sq, someone is looking at it and remarking on it. For some reason, it just stops people in their tracks.

Today was really beautiful, so I wanted to try to get a nice picture of the tree. I can't quite get an angle without any of the wires, but will keep trying.

OK, so this tree is not in Somerville. I was in Wellesley and saw this beautiful tree, so I snapped a photo. Comment if you know anything about this tree, and as always keep sharing favorite trees!

I am going to try to take pictures of this tree a few times a week or so if I can. That way you can see it change throughout the winter months. It might be difficult since it gets dark early, but I'll do my best. Please comment if you have seen this tree or have other trees that stop you in your tracks in Somerville.

This tree has inspired me to start up this blog. If you take the bike path out of Davis Square towards Mass Ave, you will see this tree on your right side as you walk along. It is a beautiful and proud tree, and I plan on taking pictures of it throughout the year and posting them here. I also welcome leads on other magnificent trees in the Somerville area, especially if you can get a good view of them.

Post and comment on your favorite trees

Since I moved to Somerville, I have been struck by some of the amazing and old trees that I encounter around town. If I can get a pretty clear view, I will take pictures of some of these proud trees and post them here. Feel free to comment and leave your own thoughts and inspirations. Also, if you have other trees that you love in Somerville let me know. Thanks!
